The Shrimpy Stone is a perfect little buffet for your shrimp and they’ll be all over it eating the algae, biofilm, and bits it catches from the current. The small round river stone is topped with either fluffy algae or easy-to-grow pearl weed! I even like to sprinkle fish food in it to encourage them to dig through it and give my shrimp some much needed enrichment.
The shrimpy stone does not get eaten fast enough for it to ever go away, and it will very slowly grow over time. Both the algae and the pearl weed are extremely easy to grow so long as you have a light on your tank. It also helps filter your water and helps add oxygen to your tank!
